RAISE THE BAR STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE The goal of the conference is to motivate and educate students about intramural program possibilities in their schools. Students play a key role in the delivery and sustainability. of intramural programs and it is important that we empower them in this role. This conference is a full day physical activity in the morning followed by discussions and small group work in the afternoon. At the end of the day, students and staff will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to implement intramural programs in their schools. Schools are encouraged to send a maximum of 8 students plus one or two staff. The students should be school leaders who will play a key role in the development of your intramural program. All students must be ready to take part in the physical activity component of the conference. They have the option of wearing their physical activity clothes to the conference or they can change in one the school gymnasiums that we will use during the morning sessions. Please make cheques payable to The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Mail the cheques to the address listed below. Raise the Bar PO Box 723 Guelph, Ontario N1H 6L8 All participants will receive a Raise the Bar conference t-shirt. In addition, snacks and meals will be provided. Teachers will also receive several resource handouts.
We have limited finances in place to assist some schools in paying for travel and hotel accommodations. Priority will be given to schools travelling great distances. If you wish financial assistance, please call or email Steve Friesen.
