How to Play & Rules
- Five downs for the field
- Five steamboats before the defence can rush
- Up to 12 players at a time. Extras may rotate in. Equal play time is expected for all students who want to play
- Start with rock/paper/scissors. The winner of rock/paper/scissors will choose whether their team kicks off or receives.
- The other team will choose which side of the field they want
- The kick-off takes place from the 20 yard line
- All players must wear waist-belts which have coloured strips on them. The coloured strips are called flags. The ‘refs’ will only blow the whistle, to acknowledge stoppage of play, if the defender has the flag in his/her hand
- NO equipment out until all the rules have been reviewed by referees
- NO tackle or you will be dismissed
- NO running plays unless the defence crosses the line of scrimmage after five steamboats
- Boundaries are in the “middle middle” of the soccer field. We will use the field sideways. The side boundaries are marked by the side soccer posts and cones may help to define those imaginary lines. The end zone is from the soccer-post line to the track. Beyond the track is out of bounds.
