The Conference will focus on how to build quality, sustainable intramural programs. We offer a full day of hands on practical activities.

The focus of the morning session will be a 1.5 hour physical activity and game session. Intramural leaders - both students and teachers - will take participants to local schools and play intramural-style games.

All participants should be dressed in active clothing and have running shoes. You will sweat!

The afternoon session will focus on planning. Schools will work together and with other schools to plan their own intramural program. The objective is to make sure that every school leaves the conference with a concrete plan of what they need to do to build and/or improve their school intramural program.

We provide,

- bus transportation to and from the conference for schools that          require such assistance (email Steve)  *schools from a 'distance' get preference

- a Raise the Bar Leadership t-shirt to every participant

- resources and intramural packages for every teacher

- snacks and beverages for the morning and afternoon sessions

- lunch

- door prizes

- a great experience for everyone!

David GrossmanAlso, we are pleased to announce that David Grossman - a long time high school sports journalist for the Toronto Star and current host of ' Sunday Morning with David Grossman' on the FAN 590 (Sunday mornings from 8:00 - 10:00)- will be our guest speaker.

David is an award-winning journalist and had a 30 year career with the Toronto Star, before retiring from the newspaper in 2010. He is well know for getting the story behind the story in the often controversial side of amateur sports in the Greater Toronto Area.

David is an outspoken advocate for kids and sports and has also been a great supporter for Raise the Bar. David is an authority on the sports scene for university and high school sports and is a great believer that sports and physical activity should be available to everyone. We are very excited to have David speak at the conference.
